A temporary road closure of McCulloch Boulevard is required for Public Works Infrastructure Improvements. In an effort to reduce the impact to local businesses and motorist, contractors will be working at night to improve the water system. McCulloch Boulevard from Capri Lane to Smoketree Avenue is closed to thru traffic next Monday, August 12, at 7:00 p.m., and is scheduled to reopen the following morning on August 13, at 3:00 a.m.

On August 7, 2024, at approximately 4:43 a.m. officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department made a civil traffic stop in the 2600 block of Sweetwater Avenue. While talking with the driver, officers utilized Lake Havasu City Police Department’s K-9 “Echo” to perform an open-air sniff around the vehicle. As a result, K-9 “Echo” alerted on the odor of narcotic drugs inside the vehicle.

On August 6, 2024, at approximately 2:43 p.m. officers from the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to Smoketree Elementary School in reference to school staff locating a firearm in a student’s possession.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department Cadet Program received a generous $2,500 donation recently. Sunny and Sheetal Patel, owners of the Quality Inn presented Chief Troy Stirling with a check to support the Cadet Program. Lake Havasu City appreciates the generous donation by the Patel Family in support of our community’s youth.

On August 05, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Palo Verde Boulevard South in reference to an armed robbery that just occurred. While officers were on their way to the initial robbery call, Lake Havasu City Police Dispatch received another report of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the 700 block of Lake Havasu Avenue North. The second caller provided a similar vehicle and suspect description of the initial call.

On August 5, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 1500 block of Palo Verde Blvd S. in reference to an armed robbery that just occurred.

On August 1, 2024, at approximately 9:07 p.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to the 3400 Blk of Oro Grande Blvd. in reference to a domestic violence call. During the course of that investigation, an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to remind drivers to be alert for students headed to and from school as the first day of school begins on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Speed limits are reduced in all school zones, and officers will be monitoring traffic to ensure the safety of the community.
